type='text'>inspired

After spending a good 2 hours on several "green" blogs. Apartment therapy and chezeraby I have decided I want, ok probably more than that do some of these ideas. So to start it off these are a few of the requirements I want. I want a house near or at least commutable to my work, with Kit in school I don't see this as always happening but at least I should be able to commute most days, plus it's not like it's a hard idea. I want a front porch that is covered and gabeled, To hang the kayak, or kayaks. I really like the idea of building my own kayak and staining it the same color at the house, though our red kayak will still be my favorite. Also a small "inside" porch for the bikes. I want it to keep the bikes out of the house but still in a semi warm area some times it would just be nicer. Also it would be nice to have a a buffer which is a two door entry way. Also with 3-4 years of us starting out I think a project would be fun, and I really like the idea of doing a renovation of an older house, which hopefullly would make it a cheaper house. Other small ideas that I think would be great. plus make most if not everything recycled.

Kitchen.
integrated so that the things that we eat a lot some how is incorporated, kit likes wine lets use a piece of an old wine barrel that would have been thrown away into a pot holder.

old jean insulation

i'll think of more I'm just in that mood

thoughts

ok there are a couple of thoughts going around me head right now.

1. NEVER EVER should senior teachers assign project, test, and test and projects due the class after homecoming that happens to also be Halloween. I'm basically studying me life away while people are, 1. downtown (ehhh so don't care but better than here), 2. watching movies (ok so im doing this but still), 3. doing nothing (ok so that just sounded lazy but I said it)

2.I'm kinda tired of this point in my blogs life. It happens inevitably. I have had friends, family, ex-girlfriends, girlfriends, fiance's and soon to be wifeys follow my blog. I've shared thoughts and angers, and I've even shared some loves. I just thought that I should really say this as it's my blogs part of it's life. I'm tired of drama caused by ______. If you think it's about you well a. your paranoid forget it or b. you caused it, I'm involved involuntarily, and it's senior year grow up get over it and make up. I feel like most of the things people complain about are pointless. I know I have my flaws, I promise you I do, and I promise that if you want to talk to me about my flaws I have an email so find it, email me and we'll talk. It's sad that I have to even think about this, I feel like a woman, and you know what some times I feel like sonny's life would be better than this because well that's about it.

3. as for above every one read the "It's the great pumpkin: Charlie Brown"
it probably describes life better than any philosophy book ever could think of.

4. Riding my bike with kit, even thought it doesn't happen much is probably one of the most relaxing things if im in the right mood, which honestly sometime I'm not. It teaches me things to slow down for a bit. Before I was riding with her my hill climbs sucked after about a week of riding with her my hills improved 150%. Shows you some small things and how it work.

5.the whole idea of I soon am going to be a husband is scary, I'll admit. It takes some thinking about. In less than 8 months i'll be married, go figure

6. I need to get with chad and write a stupid blog post for the other blog, it's a fantastic idea and other people have already gotten on it before us, and we've already had a tasting party

a little late

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_SyA1uKvGbk0/Sq-vRxBizXI/AAAAAAAAAaM/-QWEzgnoAnI/s320/bikingandtasting+059.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381712799483481458" />
So Greenville hosted the national cycling championship and George Hincapie won the stars and strips jersey. With only one other team member Craig Lewis who just came back from the swine flu. What a great domestique, he really showed his level of expertise. It's kinda sad though, because this might be his last great race as he has switched to a national team but I mean he does have two children and why not. He is going to be signing with BMC, and Lance Armstrong is signing with radio shack along with the rest of Astana besides Contrador, which I feel like most people will be more than fine with. Hopefully radio-shack can take the lead and hold the group, and it's too bad that Hincapie didn't take Armstrongs offer but I'm sure that his new team, hincapie's will be able to take advantage of his skills, and I hope they do.

kinetic typography

I have been looking around and have decided on some of my favorite kinetic typographys

V for Vendetta

Derek Zoolander

I figure I should share

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Lost most of the summer weight, most being the key word and planning on what I'm going to do with my life during school. Some times I wish that it would just end sooner than later and these next two semesters are going to kick my butt. Yet it's still not as bad as it could be so I'm not going to complain, it's senior year, 1st year on the cycling club, and road racing doesn't start until the spring. So here's to training, here's to friends, and most of all here's to all the seniors at clemson, hurah and let's get it through this

The Best bike ride ever

So after my past for 4, and the three weeks before that were there was little or no biking except for the morning and afternoon commute I think I've had the best bike ride of my life. Last Friday I did a small short ride with Austin I was hurting, everything felt wrong absolutely horrible. Saturday was a nice ride but still getting over the pain from Friday and going where in the heck did all of my speed go. Saturday night we went to the Athens criterium 2009. It was amazing from watching in the infield and the outfield and watching the start of the mens race off of turn one there was nothing wrong with it. Sunday I went on a ride with justin and still feeling a little pain but nothing to bad and speed really picked up. Which brings us to today, first off my speed was there ok so the first two hills I defiantly didn't think I would have made it up and was getting ready to turn back because I was hurting so bad, but decided to get better I have to push for it. I got up the second hill pushed hard and my 2nd wind came and it seems like the rest of those just feel in behind it was crazy. Pedeled hard up the hills, down the hills around corners. Then to top it off as I was coming off of Maw bridge probably a mile out of Central I decided to finish a good ride right, which means off the saddle and pushing at 80% until the end and finishing with a 100%. Well out of no where a ferrari comes up behind me the guy goes "you look like your pushing it", gets in front of me and leads me all the way into central pushing the whole time playing a game of cat and mouse with a Ferrari I'm willing to bet there are guys who ride in italy who have never done that. So to top a good ride of and make it a great one I got a Ferrari to bring me in from the end of my ride!
<img width='1' height='1' Lance has said that he wants levi to win. but I think that that the picture above describes the king of the mountains, it's semi cold and always a good ride! Also Lance's time trial bike was found in Sacromento so who knows!

twitters from lance armstrong

Random thought: The Tour of California should be in late April. For all of you who didn't know or don't know or want some details here's the low down, for MLK weekend me kit and 10 of our other friends went down to Ocean Isle beach, they all said on friday I drove to the beach like it was going to burn down, I was in a race for time. We get to the beach is freezing (litteraly it's 22 degree's F, and luckly for me there was no wind. I get a couple of poeple involved in the whole situation, carmen and britney put the sparkling wine (a rose), on ice with a string of lights around it so acentuate the glasses, all while we went on a walk on the beach. Which conveniently we didn't go on a walk on the beach last time we were down, so the whole week I bothered kit about it. As we get down to go walk on the beach she about put her gloves on, I told her you don't wanna wear those I wanna hold your hand. So we go walking she complains about it being cold as she would any other time, and she knows I'm just going to wave her off. So as my nerves build up to equal my braverly I start playing with kit's true love waits ring, I turn to her and start to pull it off she claims "You can't do that", I reply "trust me", I drop down to one knee and ask her to marry me.

Yet I still find it approriate for me to add a few quotes that sum of this week.

"I think your room mate is taking our picture" -kit

"So I really think your going to enjoy marriage...he he he...well yea man that's awesome" -justin scott

"she's more frightened by a bee than a hurricane" -Rob Johnson

"welcome to the family, kitty kat hinkle" -Ethan (my brother)

"so I'm guessing everything went well judging by the smile on term='backwards?'/>
a cause worth getting behind

As the idea of missions and what not come up, as it always does around this time of year. FCA just announced there mission trip, and several others are talking about other things. I have started doing research in something I think would be interesting, doing an engineering mission. Get on board with 1 laptop per child, the roundabout water pumping station (places a merry go round for the kids to play, and a school, the merry go round pumps water as the kids play, who says you can't harness the kids energy), placing cheap wind turbines in remote areas to harness the power, and the best to me or possibly one that I would love to get on (either in research, though I have no clue maybe in the dispersial or something), the color changing land mine detection. We always hear the US spends 200-300 million dollars to remove 10,000 mines while 24,000~ people die because of mines, it seems just stupid, yet if you plant a plant that will tell you where they are, it woundn't be hard to remove, you could just create special guns or what not, and also people could use fields. This comes about when it's said 90% of angola is not livable because no one know where the mines are located. So that's just my thought on the whole mission trip thing.

10 days late

So I realize that 10 days after my 1st presidential election I didn't write what I thought of it. 1st off if you didn't realize my candidate didn't win. A couple of things have came to mind. The price of gas has dropped from 147 dollars mid-summer to 83 dollars Friday. With opec calling for an emergency meeting I think it will be interesting to see how long this bottom fallout last. Yet it begs the questions can Americans hold onto there ever faithful we want more fuel effiecency and greener options for clean energy. I only hope that americans are not this ill cited to say we can afford gas now, so we need to forget about tata's air powered car ideas, tesla's electric car, and the ever mindful chevy volt's of the automotive world.e I think the only way for us to stay a viable nation is to push for these, and help reduce the cost of home solar and wind, and encourage the idea of microhydro electric stations around the USA.

and on a side note cool things about my favorite websites
www.gmail.com - gmail goggles, makes drunk emailing harder
www.digg.com - freegreen.com, free green house designs for FREE!!!
www.ted.com - who doesn't love a good ted talk, also look up the giant nuclear space thingy
www.instructables.com - how to make your own tent, now I regret the 100 purchase I just made
www.google.com - watta ya trying to say, elmor fude is fun in google
www.blogger.com - a new way to comunicate
dcf-clemson.org - who know DCF had a website, well ok I did but still it's freaking AWESOME
www.facebook.com - they just changed, and millions hate it
www.blueletterbible.com - hundreds of translations of our favorite book

that's a good list for now
more to come

breathe in, breathe out

So for the first time this week I feel like I can breathe. I sit back and analyze what is happening in my life. It strikes me as strangly odd how the feelings of remorse and anger I had that day. The utter confusion of how and why such a think would happen scaried me. My brother went into a mild depression and I think every one acted in one way or another different. I remember that after that day for the rest of the school year all of the teachers tried to offer moral support to a school, when they them selves were morning. Every one knew some one, or heard something, and all were scared what was going to come next. There were moments where all you could do was look at the TV and watch for the 100th time hoping that maybe this time the plane would just fly next to the building, maybe it wouldn't fall maybe this was a whole "war of the worlds" tactic just played out on tv instead of radio. We turned to God, alan jackson moved us, and for the first time since the early 1960's America wasn't a melting pot all jumbled together we were a group of people looking for a common cause, all looking and thinking how can I help the stranger next to me. We supported our goverment, and we looked to our leader our president that so many claim to hate for hope and he gave us that hope, and helped us think of how we would repay those who did this to us. In my 9th grade year not a year after this we had a model UN project, and our teachers gave us a senerio that the hoover damn just was attacked and I remember the silence, utter silence that the 9th grade class of Dutch Fork Middle gave, it was broken with "are you kidding" form some unknown girl in the back, with a releif a teacher said this was only a saneario. It seemed with a collective sigh the 9th grade class started work on what was happening. Because at that moment we thought we would have to relive the memories that we had before, not a year ago.

more to come,
God be with those families, and me and every one close to me as we don't forget to morn, yet look to a future.

god bless you all,
nathan

LHC, House church dinner

so were still here it's and CERN hasn't ended the world, I guess the LHC might as well start doing experiments

nextly
house church dinnner on eaton
good food
good time

sum it up YAY FELLOWSHIP!

the bike store secrets

There are a few secrets that the bike store doesn't like to announce to much
1. the new location sucks
2.you can make appointments and just drop the dang thing off
3. it takes an hour from riding your bike to the cyclery then walking to lowry
4.the old location would have taken 20 mins
5.There promoting your to drive your bike to there store, not ride
6. the clemson police probably hated the old location (1000 dollar fine for riding on the sidewalks
7.the people there are always nice
8.ask for a deal, they'll find you one
9.there's a used parts box above you, I bet you didn't know that
10.Mondays & I got in to civil for all of you who don't know where I started out in mechanical and I switch to what some call the easy some call the slacker. I just call it the basics of mechanical with a little bit more thrown in for my enjoyment. So basically all of my professors are completly awesome and keep me more than entertained about what is happening. So on that stand point I'm happy. Hopefully next week I'll have finished all of my summer projects that either I was going to start or have started. The bike, the coffee table and maybe a couple more here and there. The room should be together (I want a weekend to finish it) and we'll then maybe a little bit on the walls and the apartment will be done. Tomorrow night will be the first of hopefully many guy only dinner nights. Were doing our own versions of the now famous acheaux blackjack, which for some reason is surprisingly different. I think tonight was the first time that I ever heard kit completely tell the story of her parents break up from beginning to end. It was kinda touching even though it was at eaton it was still pretty cool. I really think God for his amazing works for preparing me for that. I know in someways it's kinda weird to think about it but being around so many people before kit that had to deal with divorces it helped me better understand how to cope with her (not in a bad way just how to help her deal) and everything. I know that if God hadn't trained me there is no way I could have handled the emotional stress that she had weighing on her shoulders. I guess I should thank him more than I already do for that, I really do love how he prepares me. It's like running a marathon just way more cool and complete. I guess tomorrow will be the first of many ticket distributions, it should be interesting to see how this is going to work staying on the other side of the ticket line, instead of waiting im giving, kinda irony some might think.

not much else is happening except there are 21 days till my 21st b-day. Which i've decided I anti pated it and everything else, and now we'll it's not that big of a deal, asked 3 years ago and I would have said I can't wait. So this was Tripp and alli's wedding Tripp is kits cousin how many ever away, and what surprises some people is that almost 2 years of dating and I still haven't been introduced to every one. The wedding was in Blackburg VA, so just a little bit of a drive. Yet it was interesting to see the memorial prepared for the students of VT that died. You could tell that the students needed something or some way to express them selves and that was how it was done, right in viewing distance of the engineering building where it happened. At Tripp's wedding one of his friends from china came to help him celebrate. I can't or don't even want to know how to start to spell his name and I know if I start that i'll just butcher it and make it sound basically what you want his name to sound like. But he was telling us about the restrictions that china puts on us and basically how he didn't know how or why in some cases that the same kind of restriction weren't put on every one. It was an interesting conversation because i've heard little snid bits of how the whole system works over there, and basically how horrible it is and how the human rights need to do something but still it's kinda interesting to hear from some one's own voice who lives there.

also does any one remember the continent of floating trash somewhere in the pacific ocean, I figured we'd still be hearing about it, I guess it was a good media now kinda thing.

the itsy bitsy spider

So for all of you who don't know oconee, ok the upstate is in a drought. Yesterday Clemson was put on a severe drought warning, I was like really Clemson I figured we'd be the last because of the campus but then again here we are in a severe drought. Yet tonight it's raining ohh what God given blessing rain it is. First I was like I'm going to dread this walk coming from my car to the building I'm staying in. Yet no how can I miss this. It's pretty amazing, I felt cool rain on my shoulders, it's been so long since I nice night rain has came, and it was so refreshing, I want music to be playing, I want to see an old silver airplane come up and me in my rain trench coat say something memerable, yet for tonight I'll settle for nothing more than, the itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout, down came the rain and washed that dang ole spider out.

work

So today will be the first day that I will be working a full 13 hours, five at the desk and 8 for the DOT. It seem like it should be a good bit but I guess I'm kinda excited. First off, I get to be here and interact with people. But most of all its a good chance for me to catch up on the daily news. Sitting at a desk where very little happens is a good way for me to be able to catch up on things that are happening. Plus I get to think things through, recently I've been trying to decide on what im going to do with part of my savings this summer. Every year I try to save a little bit up. But also every summer I save and purchase something, something I want and really don't need but I always enjoy it or atleast mostly. The first summer I worked I helped buy my first car, the second summer I worked I bought my first car. My senior summer I bought the replacement for my first car and last summer I bought a kayak. Normally before anything begins I've already decided on what I want, but this summer I'm having a hard time. The weekend end before last I was at kits, and I've always been admiring a C3 Corvette stingray, it's probably a 77 to 83 not sure exactly on the year, her mom and her have always said it hasn't moved for over 15 years and for atleast a year it's been a beautiful water hose holder. So I don't know what I want, maybe try and barter for this corvette, but if I get it where would I keep it. If I bought it off of passion I would never cheack this ever. But eventually because I'm an engineer this is going to attack me be logical. So I don't know what to do be logical and don't try to get a corvette, tv, or something else and just save or what, (the TV and what not were my other choices)

clemson

Why don't you all just come, and join in the fun this summer, I have an open loft!

a bleak out look

Last year the exam week was warm and sunny and made me wanna be out side, this year, looking on exam week is bleak to say the lease, and when your Igoogle home page gives you what looks to be on continuous rain cloud, the options don't look any better. So here it goes. As the week slowly begins anew, and I start this last round of crazy made up exams that the teachers seem to think are threatening. I start to ponder the importance in this all. With getting emails about blocking your facebook so employers can't see. The thought of staying up here at Clemson for the summer and all this entails. I seem to be strangely complacent about everything that is coming up in the very near future. It seems like how, jackson one of our pastors sons at DCF decided today that as soon as his mom left that he wanted his snack and juice. Now I gave him a little bit of it, and saved the rest for towards the end of the service but he knew exactly what he wanted. Yet if I took away from him he found something else to entertain him, if you asked him not to get out something he was quick to put it back, and wanted more than anything to help clean up. His face lit up when a pop-up Frisbee was given to him folded and he got to pull it apart. This idea of being completely complacent with the moment you at, and being exuberant when something delights you, I've decided that is how I need to model my life after a 2 maybe 3 year old that I kept in the nursery this morning, that still brings a smile to my face. Also it basically helps me keep my mind off of the idea of what in the world am I going to do about rooming next year since robbie decided that he is leaving Clemson and going back to upstate

it's been a while

So I know were not suppose to be turned down or even depressed about something simple. Yet this whole "how much the U.S. dollar is worth" is pretty depressing. I mean come one, were at like what 1 to 1.5 with the euro and it keeps going up I remember predictions that that would never be like that and that the euro would be lucky if it caught up with the dollar. I can just imagine the inventor of the EURO sitting on his stool and every time the dollar becomes more of nothingness he laughs, probably has some LED counter clock on his wall. So since the dollar is going down I've decided there are some things that I will promptly do as soon as I'm making money, yay 2 years.
1. BUY LAND, I don't care where it is if some one tells me I can buy an acre on top of a mountain I'm gonna do it, and then completely rename that plot.
2.Move to Puerto Rico I mean the need for engineers has to be grand, and plus you get all of the positives of living in the US, and very few of the negatives (ok so maybe crime but you get that everywhere)
3.Not even look at the stock market, I'm thinking something FDA insured, and once that bank acount reaches it's limit it's getting split

Ok, so I'm just ranting and raving and probably wont be able to do any of this in any timely manner I mean I might as well say this is how it's going to be in like 50 years.

P.s. How in the world do you read like 10 things telling you that the US dollar is worth nothing? I mean really how much literature can there be describing how bad our economy is doing, I guess some one finally decided hey we might be in a recession.

A true guide to manliness

as I set here reading the Warrior's guide to True Manliness I ponder. This is the basic guide to being a true man in this new 2008 year. I read it and there are basically three points, like any good "how to book" our their. So I get to reading and it's basically be in control of your body, follow a path a that makes you happy, and live as if tomorrow is your last day. If it's not just me I would love to know but does this not sound like Jesus in the human flesh being told by what I presume is a non-Christian (don't take my word on this). Yet the idea hold up, be in control of our bodies. This is exactly what guys need to be told and we might loose this stereo type of trying to find loose women who will give us earthly pleasures, and not just that but be healthy, I've noticed that in todays society of over eaters, there's a green movement on health. WE NEED TO BE HEALTHY is what it's saying, and not just that it's easy too. Your parents did it (well for most of there lives) your grandparents every one, so why not us go run a couple of miles a day, set realistic goals for your life and in short obtain them, and when we do this it's amazing we feel healthy and we become healthy with out our consumer needs. I always remember this story a man is asked how will he become the strongest man in town and his father says every day put the newest born calf over your head and do that several times a day. Several months latter the man can lift the almost full grown cow because he followed his fathers instructions and took the time that was needed to grow his muscle.
Then the idea of following a path the path that is needed to be followed by a God fearing man are that of the foot steps of Jesus, and they'll do exactly what the guide tells us to do on our path, be happy and live as if it's your last day there's not much to say here but honestly as you make your walk with Jesus you fill up with him and are ready to go, your out look on life seems so much less bleak that the world tells you, and I know for me this is a daily struggle, with gas and other daily concerns it all seems to add up but with Jesus it makes it better.
finally to live your life as if your dying. Have you ever wondered what you would do if you knew that the next 24 hours would be your last, and God willing your at the top of your game. Would you loose all fear, how bout go up and just proclaim God to anyone you can think of. How much different would our lives be in that regard. How many more could we bring to Christ in that way. It's an amazing thought that if we changed our outlook on life how we would bring more to Christ. That we would fight a battle against satan and laugh when he tries to weaken our defenses because no matter what he says, The armour of God is so fierce so crazy that it's basically every thing you can think of one verse that I believe holds this little bit true is
Jer 46:3-4 (NIV) "Prepare your shields, both large and small, and march out for battle! Harness the horses, mount the steeds! Take your positions with helmets on! Polish your spears, put on your armour!"
WOW! I mean think about it not only put on your armour but POLISH YOUR SPEARS what insane awesome manliness promoting GOD. I can't wait till I get to be up there with him but until then I know what I want to wear.

Now to leave you with that same OMG feeling here is a great video that will basically make you feel sick nasty manliness.

So if you read this post, I want you to go see this with me!! This seems to be our dream as children to own that amazingly fast looking, I don't even think at that point because we don't have a real understanding of what a car is or how we drive it we just want it to look fast, I mean that's the whole reason kids now have power wheels and even if you look back you could get this ride along modeled like the highest end Mercedes or BMW. It's a unrealistic dream for most of us. Yet I remember the first day I had my first car, a gleaming red 4runner, and how much I cherished this piece of metal, but I know with in the first so long of having it, I wanted a newer, faster, flashier car. I guess because of this consumer world that I've been raised in this is "normal" yet I just now want to settle but even when I believe that I'm on the verge of settling I always come back to the same points, and it's basically I have no clue how I can settle for such things, and though this seems contradictory, in the sense that I want to settle with things I have, as soon as my car breaks down I feel this whole point of gloom that I'm fed up with the car I have, and all I want to do at that moment is take it sell it, and find something else, which inevitably will have something wrong with it so while playing with my mind I come to the reason for this post.

My jeep broke down, and I'm frankly tired of it, but I guess because it's paid off it's the cheapest (??) car I can own so I might as well be happy with it and go on with life as if that is where I'm suppose to be. So I guess I'm not content but willing to be complacent.

So I have no clue as why I've decided to do this but as for the post time that I have put into this simple blog, setting it up, and everything I can understand the frustration that can be experienced in this thing called blogging. Why we put so much time into it I have no clue, maybe it's the idea that we want to show the world, or tell the world what we have to do or want to do. It's a good idea none the less, and you know some how telling people about my life it sounds well entertaining. There's things that I want to keep updated, my running and how it's going, The planning of the .1k cooper library bridge run (im going to organize this thing), and a little about school and a little about church
